Artist Statement:
I was born on September 11, 2002, in Nuevo Casas Grandes. As far back as I can remember, I have lived in Ejido Jun Mata Ortiz. I grew up and played on the streets of this town surrounded by ceramics and the art produced with the clay from these places. I never saw the importance of making clay pots until one day, my teacher Diego Valles invited me to make pots with him so that I could learn. After making my first pot, I became very happy and understood the reason why this tradition should continue. I want to carry on this tradition as the new generation of young potters in Mata Ortiz.
